Full Moon Rising over the Ocean – October 2013

by Sheila Finkelstein on October 19, 2013

According to published articles, there would be/was a Lunar Eclipse at 7:55 PM Eastern Daylight Time on Friday night, October 18, 2013.  It was said to be heralding a time of change.  A friend and I went to the ocean shortly before sunset to observe the moon rising. We anticipated also seeing the eclipse to be an hour later on the timeline. [click to continue…]

As I am transitioning and developing my Love With No Regrets business, I’ve started looking at issues from several years ago to see which photos and Self-Reflecting Queries fit more specifically with relationship issues.

Since so many of our Picture to Ponders do, in fact, in some way deal with relationships, firstly and most importantly with ourselves, I’m anticipating a fun time. It is my intention that you too enjoy the journey.

If you’ve been around here for a while, you know how much fun I have with reflections, so it’s not surprising that the first issue I went to was this with Miami Reflections.

It’s been a very busy, interesting and productive week here. I hope it was the same for you.

Sheila Finkelstein reflected in 3 mirrors I spent a lot of time in response to Jan Lundy’s invitation to submit an article for the March Issue of BUDDHA CHICK LIFE, topic: “Celebrating the Feminine”.

My knee jerk response, in my head, was, “Thanks, and that’s doesn’t describe me.”

Paying attention to my reaction, I decided it would be a good thing for me to write about, to work my way through it to see what, if anything, was at the root.

You can see my article by clicking on “Celebrating Owning Ourselves.”

Today’s Photos  are in the form of a short “Photo Essay.” Jan Lundy’s suggestion of an added “Photo Essay” for my article in BUDDHA CHICK LIFE probably was the subconscious catalyst when these photos popped out for me as I was searching my files.

Limpkin tending himself at Sunset at Green Cay

The above Limpkin at sunset at Green Cay Wetlands is inviting you on a portion of walk as we see different perspectives of the sky and water. He and I are inviting you to experience the peacefulness of it. [click to continue…]

Reflections in car lamp - brilliant red

When searching for a “heart” photo, or just “the right” photo for Valentine’s Day the above photo of headlights (taillights?) of a car popped out at me. Be it the colors, or the multi-reflected images it seemed to be most fitting to my message for today. So, I said “yes” to its being today’s featured photo. [click to continue…]

Sunset lit tree - face in limb

Once again, a not-so-attractive face popped out at me for today’s issue of Picture to Ponder. Do you see the large, nose profile and the cone-shaped head covered with a hat?

This one is a little different in that I first saw the face, when looking at the larger photo which you’ll see below. This is a portion that I cropped out of the larger image and rotated from horizontal to vertical. From which of the photos below was this abstracted? [click to continue…]

Walking in Green Cay past sunset today I had the sudden thought that it would be a great idea to acknowledge the year’s end with the day’s end in the place from whence so many of our Picture to Ponder photos come.

Thus I grabbed my iPhone and set the video recorder to give me the opportunity to more directly thank you and wish you a Happy, Healthy New Year.

One of the things that intrigued me the most from my recent trip to San Diego was the contrast in the old and the new, particularly in the architecture. For those of you who know San Diego, we stayed in the heart of the Gaslamp District and had a nice walk daily to the Convention Center.

Thus the mixture  in

Today’s Picture to Ponder photos certainly seem like a strange mix. At least they do on this end. I’ve been sitting on several moon photos for over a week, thinking I’d feature them in the last issue.

With a few possible queries and themes fighting each other in my head, I let it go and focused on the “light” message. Thus featured today are one of the moon photos and the glistening, sunlit golden water just past sunrise at the beach. New video clips also resulted.

To simplify this issue of Picture to Ponder, I posted the story of the moon on the blog, including the photographic processes and my discoveries. There you will see other full moon photos, including a brilliant orange one that I love, and Self-Reflecting Queries around “perfection”. See “Lessons From The Moon.“  Then clicking on the surf photo below will take you to a video of the waves gently washing in and rolling back on the surf.

Lastly before going further, if you are one who is an Internet Marketer, or interested in being one/learning more, be sure to check out the info after the SRQs on David Perdew’s new MyNAMS Membership program.
